How do you get someone's attention? By catching their eye with a strong headline or image.
Then you need to keep their interest by writing compelling copy that draws them in and makes them want to learn more.
Finally, you need to create a desire for your product or service by showing them how it can solve their problem or improve their life.

You need to make sure that you're not being too creative at least initially, as you want to copy the intent of the sales and marketing process in the funnel.
Once you can see for yourself that this is a proven funnel that converts, you can start to test it for improvements if you see opportunities.
You need a baseline to start from with your own brand using hacking funnels.
Competitors' funnels - Research with The Funnel Hacking Model
First, you need to get yourself a list of competitors, and then find out which funnels they have.
Then you're going to look at their funnels so that you can use the same tactics.
You'd ideally do this research across several competitors, three or more.
Gather Intelligence Into Funnel Swipe Files
In the same way that we digital marketers often create swipe files for email marketing or sales pages, we should do the same for hacked funnels.
Create a logical structure to store all the information that you find, and save it away, so that you can refer to it when you need it.
It is likely that if during the process of strategically investigating a competitor's effective sales funnels, you find some strategy that works well - you will revisit it.
You will probably tweak it and improve it - improve the video sales letter, but still use the same tactic, model the web pages.
You will want to use the exact same customers or at least the customer sources using google ads, the same top referring sites, running Facebook ads, or a retargeting ad.
Playing about with these parameters will possibly improve the effectiveness of the funnel, so long as the original was not using some shady marketing tactics!
Capture Everything!
By capturing everything, I mean take screenshots of pages at each stage, perhaps make notes about how the funnel or page initially made you feel.
Did it work?
Was it effective at convincing you?
If so, why?
Capture the technology being used (more on that later) and even purchase so that you are actively and strategically investigating the sales process.
Everything that you can know, and understand, record it.
Find ways to do this that make it easier.
Use a voice recorder to narrate as you work through the high converting funnels on multiple websites.
Understand The Tools and Technologies
This bit sounds super tricky, but don't worry some tools can help you.
If you want technology tools to find out what trackers are running for example:
- BuiltWith (The software is expensive to buy, but you can type in an address at builtwith.com and it will do it for free)
- Ghostery (Free browser add-on to do the same job - might be more convenient?)

Then there are competitive intelligence tools that you can use for the following jobs...
Ads (these show you what ads have been running where if you give it a competitor domain)

How To Create Your Marketing Funnel Using A Funnel Hack
Funnel building software or the templates in them tend to be a bit, well, meh.
The fact that templates are available is going to mean that a lot of people will have seen them, and where they once used to covert, they probably no longer do quite as well.
What you need to do is find templates that are close to what you found during your funnel hacking, to use as a starting point.
Then you need to change it to be structurally the same as indicated by the hacks. You need your assets - videos, images, and so on.

There are often promotions that take place in funnels.
These could be part of the upsells, or might occur later in the follow-up sequence, or a membership area.
These are often to get people the ultimate help to achieve what they want (often the highest price).
Book a Strategy Session
The funnel offers a free strategy session that recommends another product, or vets the person for coaching membership.
As a beginner, you may not have a coaching program, but you might find an affiliate offer, or if you wanted you could recommend some more software or training to your customers.
